Welcome to the website of Transdev Yellow Buses and the home of Carbon Stoppers, the UK’s first initiative aimed at boosting bus use and raising money for local good causes.

 

 

We’re proud to team up with the Daily Echo, Bournemouth, to launch this innovative scheme. Each week we’ll be having a ‘Thank You Thursday’ when 1p from every passenger trip on our services will be donated to a Community Chest. The funds raised will be available to schools, community groups and good causes with Echo readers invited to nominate a worthy cause or charity.

We’ve pledged a minimum of £50 a week for at least the next 12 months. We’re also committed to the project until at least the end of 2009. Of course, the more people who travel with us on a Thursday the more money will go into our Community Chest and be available to local good causes.

For the record, Carbon Stoppers is not anti-car or asking people to give up their vehicles. Instead it is aimed at reducing congestion, improving the environment and, most importantly, benefiting the people living in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. As Neal Butterworth, Editor of the Daily Echo, says: “The campaign tries to encourage people to use the buses – and the more people use the buses the more money this fund gets.”

It’s just one more reason to travel on the ‘Yellows.’ We look forward to seeing you on one of our services soon.
