Bournemouth Tourism, in partnership with Transdev Yellow Buses and Wilts and Dorset, is pleased to introduce a new ‘Meet & Greet’ service at the busy Bournemouth Travel Interchange. The Bournemouth Tourism Management Board backed initiative to improve communication at the Interchange will see the team meeting, greeting and giving information, advice and directions to the thousands of visitors at the busy hub who have arrived by coach and train.
The two-person high-visibility team will be assisting visitors every Thursday to Sunday. Phil Smith, Resort Services Co-ordinator said: “We continually look to improve our service and this means people have more access to immediate information when and if they need it. This complements our Information Bike that is located in and around Bournemouth centre and seafront, another example of us bringing information to people, rather than them having to seek it”
Jenni Wilkinson from Transdev Yellow Buses said: “It's a really positive initiative for transport in the area which we fully support; it's great to be involved in a project that brings so much to the 'Gateway' of Bournemouth.”
Alex Carter, Managing Director of Wilts and Dorset and Transport Sector Member for BTMB added: “We want people enjoy their stay in Bournemouth and this will help people have the information they need upon arrival. As a local transport provider it is great to be behind this innovative project and to improve the service given.”
The meet and greet team will direct enquiries to the newly refurbished Travel and Tourist office opposite the train station.
