Network changes announced by Transdev Yellow Buses

TRANSDEV Yellow Buses (TYB) is to extend its high frequency 1a Bournemouth to Christchurch service to include Somerford
from May 25.

The decision follows Wilts & Dorset’s announcement that it is to terminate its m2 service between Purewell and Somerford.

The extended 1a service will provide a bus every ten minutes during daytimes, Monday to Saturday. It will continue to terminate in Christchurch during evenings and Sundays.

TYB is also launching a new hourly Monday to Saturday service linking Bournemouth, Boscombe, the Littledown Estate and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council.

The new route 39 replaces the 3b and means a direct link is reintroduced from Littledown to Bournemouth. This service will run for four months before being reviewed by the council.

Other network changes being introduced by TYB from May 25 include:

Derek Lott, TYB’s Managing Director, said: “These changes continue to develop the bus network and reflect the changing pattern of travel across the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area.”

To ensure passengers have sufficient information on how the changes may affect them, TYB will have leaflets showing summaries of each route on the buses, new timetables on its website (www.bybus.co.uk) and in book format from May 12.

Queries can also be answered in person at TYB’s office in Bournemouth Square opposite Boots.
