August Service Changes

Get from A to B...Safely & Easily!

There will be some changes to the network to ensure you can continue to get from A to B safely and easily! These timetables will operate from Sunday 30th August until 26th September where there will be some more service enhancements introduced. More details will be available on our website soon, or you can follow us on social media for updates.

All timetables can be previewed online or you can download the booklet. You can also plan your journey in advance using our journey planner which is available on the website and the mobile app.

The changes include

  • Increased frequencies
  • A new quicker and direct route into Bournemouth centre (4a)
  • Buses to Highcliffe school on school days
  • New routes 6h and 31 will continue
  • Route 8 has been withdrawn

1

Poole – Bournemouth – Tuckton - Christchurch

  • buses every 30 minutes from Poole Monday to Friday, and every 60 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays
  • buses every 10 minutes Bournemouth to Christchurch Monday to Friday
  • buses every 10 minutes to Tuckton and Every 20 minutes to Christchurch on Saturdays
  • buses every 20 minutes to Christchurch on Sundays, but combined with the 1a there is a bus every 10 minutes

1a

Bournemouth – Christchurch – New Milton

  • buses every 10 minutes from Bournemouth to Somerford Monday to Saturday
  • buses every 60 minutes from Bournemouth to Highcliffe and New Milton Monday to Saturday
  • buses every 20 minutes to Somerford on Sundays, but combined with route 1 buses every 10 minutes to Christchurch
  • On School days a journey operates to and from Highcliffe School

1b

Bournemouth -Cranleigh Road – Tuckton - Christchurch

  • buses will now depart from Stand 2 on Westover Road
  • at peak times buses will only run between Bournemouth and Tuckton
  • between 1000 and 1400 buses will continue through to Christchurch
  • On school days one journey operates to Highcliffe School via Burton

Bournemouth – Springbourne – RBH – Castlepoint – Kinson - Bearwood

  • buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday between Bournemouth and Castlepoint
  • every 60 minutes buses will extend from Castlepoint to Northbourne, Kinson, Bear Cross and Bearwood. This in part replaces the withdrawn section of the 4a and will operate daily
  • buses will depart from Westover Road Stand 2 in Bournemouth

Westbourne – Bournemouth – Charminster – Castlepoint - RBH

  • buses will operate every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday, and every 20 minutes on Sundays
  • during the evenings, both routes 3 and 5/5a will operate every 20 minutes, offering a combined frequency of every 10 minutes to Charminster Monday to Saturday, and every 15 minutes on Sundays
  • during Sunday daytime, buses will operate every 20 minutes as will 5/5a so buses will operate every 10 minutes combined to Charminster

Bournemouth  - Muscliff -  Castlepoint

  • buses continue to operate every 30 minutes Monday to Sundays
  • buses will depart from Westover Road Stand 1 in Bournemouth Town Centre

4a

Bournemouth - Moordown

This service is completely revised

The new 4a will provide a quicker journey from Moordown into Bournemouth. The route of the 4a will operate along Wimborne Road to Winton, and then Alma Road to Charminster, Charminster Road to Cemetery Junction and Wimborne Road to Richmond Hill, then St Stephens Road, Braidley Road, Bourne Avenue stopping at Tescos and Boots,  Avenue Road to the Triangle, then Terrace Road, Bath Road, Westover Road (stand 1) then St Peters Road, Dean Park Crescent to Richmond Hill and Wimborne Road outbound and then via Charminster and Winton back to Moordown.

Buses will operate every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday. This Bus will not serve the Rail Station and Lansdowne.

5/5a

Bournemouth - Kinson

  • combined buses will operate every 10 minutes Monday to Friday, every 15 minutes on Saturdays, and every 20 minutes on Sundays
  • between the 3, 4a and 5/5a there will be 12 buses an hour between Bournemouth and Charminster (Monday to Friday)
  • on Saturdays, the 3/5/5a combined provide a bus every 7/8 minutes
  • on Sundays, routes 3/5/5a provide a combined 10 minute frequency to Charminster

Bournemouth – Wallisdown – Bearwood - Wimborne

  • buses will operate every 30 minutes to Wallisdown (Monday to Saturday)
  • buses will operate every 60 minutes to Bearwood and Wimborne (Monday to Sunday)

Wimborne – Merley – Bearwood – Kinson – Castlepoint - RBH

  • buses will operate every 2 hours Monday to Saturday
  • this service compliments the hourly extension of route 2 to Bearwood and operates on the opposite half hour

Service withdrawn

Alum Chine – Bournemouth – Boscombe Pier

The current timetable will continue to operate through the winter

Operated on behalf of BCP Council. Normal timetable operating every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday.

Service operates 3 journeys per day Monday to Friday

Christchurch – Christchurch Hospital - RBH

Buses operate every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday, providing journeys for key shift start and finish times.

Operated on behalf of BCP Council. Normal timetable operating every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday.

Operated on behalf of BCP Council. Normal timetable operating every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday.

Bournemouth – Airport Business Park

Timetable revised to operate Monday to Friday, providing journeys at key times for employees at the Business Park.
