Take your seat with a view
We are excited to be bringing back open top buses for 2021, with two new open top bus routes starting on Friday 2nd April 2021 (Good Friday). These routes will provide easy access to some of the best views across the Dorset Coast!
The frequency of the routes will initially be lower and will increase as the summer progresses with the next uplift scheduled to start on Saturday 29th May 2021 (Whitsun). More details on the uplift will be available soon.

Route 11 - Bournemouth Pier to Mudeford
Open top buses on route 11 will travel to and from Bournemouth Pier, Boscombe Pier, Southbourne Beach, Hengistbury Head, Tuckton Bridge, Christchurch Bridges, Hoburne Holiday Park and Mudeford.
This service will initially operate every 2 hours on Saturday, Sundays, Bank Holidays and during School Holidays. It will not operate on weekdays during school terms until the Whitsun School Holidays.
Route 12 - Alum Chine to Boscombe Pier (with some journeys to Hengistbury Head)
We believe route 12 is the best way to experience an open top bus in Bournemouth! This service will initially operate every hour between Alum Chine, Westbourne, the Westcliff Hotels, Bournemouth Pier, East Cliff and Boscombe Pier (with some journeys extended to Hengistbury Head).
This route really does offer a ‘seat with a view’ where you can see the best views of the Dorset Coast from Old Harry Rocks to the Needles on the Isle of Wight.
Route 12 will operate hourly every day of the week from Good Friday through to the Whitsun School Holidays from when it will then increase to operate every 30 minutes.
The end to end journey time on this service is just under 60 minutes (a round trip in 2 hours), so this really is the best way to get on board an open top bus in the area.
