The cleanliness of public transport has been put to the test!
Public transport is one of the cleanest places to be during the coronavirus pandemic an investigation has found. Channel 4's Dispatches checked surfaces for germs in locations across the country – and concluded that trains and buses were more hygienic than the cafes, supermarkets and hotels it also tested. ‘Touching points’ such as handrails and seats were found to have ‘no significant traces’ of microbes with special measures to deep clean and sanitise public transport deemed very effective.
At Yellow Buses, we apply the same cleaning processes, with every bus cleaned every night.
On top of our existing rigorous cleaning processes, we have now introduced an intensified cleaning regime across our fleet and premises with all poles, handrails, seats and other key areas of our vehicles disinfected regularly. This includes buses being 'fogged' to help disinfect the entire bus. You can find more detailed information on our dedicated page here.
When boarding our buses, you will see that seats adjacent to the drivers have been cordoned off. We ask that you let customers disembark before boarding. Please also use the sanitiser on board the vehicle when boarding and disembarking.
It is now mandatory to wear face coverings when travelling on board our vehicles unless you are exempt. If you have an exemption, you can download a journey assistance card from our website here.
We ask that all customers take a seat on board our vehicle. Please use the seat closest to the window creating the biggest gap to other customers and please only use forward and side-facing seats. Customers travelling with other people from the same household can sit together and those also travelling in the same bubble.
At Yellow Buses, we are making every effort to ensure that you can continue to get from A to B safely and easily!
