Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre is the gateway to the Stour Valley Nature Reserve – the perfect day out for all the family. Discover the stunning riverside and encounter otters in the early morning, or the blue flash of Kingfishers during the day at this hidden gem in Muscliff, North Bournemouth. Breathe in the fresh air, enjoy being outside and walk or run along the riverside paths.
In the Visitor Centre itself, you can learn all about the Stour Valley Nature Reserve, its smuggling past, the flora and fauna and wildlife in the ‘A-Z exhibition’, or ask our friendly Rangers for a nature trail or walk leaflet before you head off to explore – what wildlife will you see on your journey this time?
Refuel after your walk with some tea and cake from ‘Kingfisher Café’ in a tranquil wildlife garden setting (Kingfisher Café is operated by the Bournemouth Parks Foundation, with profits going towards projects along the Stour Valley).
