Timetable changes from 25th July
As we are all aware, the number of Covid cases in the BCP area has been steadily increasing. As a result, several of our staff each week are being asked to self-isolate as they have been in contact with someone who has had covid. This has led to a short-term staff shortage. To prepare properly for the summer period and ensure that we have enough staff available to provide our network of services, we have made the decision to make some reductions on certain routes.
With effect from Sunday 25th July, we will be making changes to route 1 and routes 5/5a.
We will be changing the route 1 timetable Monday to Friday to largely match the Saturday timetable again. This means that between Bournemouth, Boscombe, Southbourne, Tuckton and Christchurch buses will continue to run every 10 minutes between Bournemouth and Tuckton. Buses will then continue to Christchurch every 20 minutes.
Between Poole and Bournemouth Triangle, buses will continue to operate every 30 minutes for most of the day, but customers may need to change at the Triangle to continue their journey on a route 1 to Tuckton or Christchurch.
Between routes 1/1a/1b we will continue to provide buses along this corridor towards Christchurch at least every 5 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime, and every 10 minutes on Sundays and during the evenings.
We will also be changing routes 5/5a Monday to Friday to operate a combined every 10 minutes between Bournemouth and Kinson during the day, this will mean that the service on each leg between Ensbury Park and Kinson will be every 20 minutes. There are no changes to the route. The Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to Friday early morning and evening services remain unchanged.
Between routes 3/4/5/5a/6 we will continue to provide a bus every 3-4 minutes between Bournemouth Town Centre and the Rail Station and routes 3/5/5a continue to provide a bus every 5-10 minutes between Bournemouth Town Centre and Charminster.
We believe that by making these changes we will ensure that we have enough staff to fulfil our network, despite the growing need to self-isolate. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we will work to regularise our network by matching resources against demand moving forward from 5th September 2021.
