Yellow Buses’ fleet elite named

1 year ago Wed 25th Apr 2018

Yellow Buses has revealed its top 10 drivers for 2017 after every route they drove was tracked by clever software.

The ‘fleet elite’ received a token of appreciation from the company that operates through Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.

The drivers are judged on their acceleration, braking, cornering, lane handling and speed.

Every inch a bus is driven is recorded and analysed by the system that enables it to rank the driver.

In 2017 the top ten were:  Danny Mahoney, Tony Stakounis, Steve Pain, Dominic Gogolewski, Leon Walker, Csaba Zekany, David Brown, Mark Brick, Nick Wright and Lucia Caro.

Simon Rigler, operations supervisor, said: “We’re fortunate to have great drivers here and this ‘Green Road’ system is able to rank them.

“We have about 300 drivers in total so to be in the top ten for a year is quite an achievement.

“We also have a prize every month for the best driver and the most improved driver and it’s nice to be able to praise them.

“Importantly the system helps improve standards across the fleet and enables us to give passengers a better service.”
